Hua Cheng Bukit Timah was founded by Madam Kuang in 2011. In 2025, selected outlets were rebranded as Choice Hua Sheng, continuing the centre’s established approach to Chinese education while sharpening its focus on structured, student-centred learning.
Our Principal, Madam Kuang, brings over 30 years of teaching experience and has been with Hua Cheng Education Center since 2001. Under her educational leadership, Choice Hua Sheng provides Chinese language tuition aligned with the MOE Chinese syllabus, supporting students from preschool to Secondary 4 in areas such as oral communication, comprehension, composition and writing. Lessons also prepare students for key academic milestones, including the PSLE and O-Levels.
Our passionate and patient teachers provide structured guidance based on each student’s learning needs. They help students identify gaps, understand their mistakes and strengthen key language skills through clear explanations, regular practice and constructive feedback.
Rather than relying solely on memorisation, our teachers encourage students to analyse questions, organise their ideas and express themselves with greater confidence. This supportive approach helps students make steady progress throughout their Chinese tuition journey.
Our customised curriculum is developed with NIE-NTU expertise and aligned with the MOE Chinese syllabus. Lessons are structured according to students’ age, school level, learning pace and areas requiring further support.
The curriculum covers vocabulary, oral communication, comprehension, composition and writing, with targeted guidance provided where students face specific difficulties. Intentionally small classes allow teachers to observe each learner more closely, adjust lesson difficulty and provide personalised feedback.
Structured homework and progress tracking also reinforce what students learn in class, creating a more focused and responsive approach to Chinese tuition in Singapore.
Choice Hua Sheng builds on a longstanding history in Chinese education and uses structured teaching methods to help students work towards stronger PSLE and O-Level performance. Lessons focus on building sound language foundations, addressing learning gaps and developing the skills students need to approach examinations with greater confidence.
Through regular practice, targeted guidance and detailed feedback, students are supported as they improve their vocabulary, comprehension, oral communication and writing abilities.
We make Chinese learning effective and enjoyable by moving beyond repetitive drilling and rote memorisation. Lessons encourage students to think critically, participate actively and apply the language through speaking, comprehension and writing activities.
Teachers use guided discussions, structured exercises and interactive classroom exchanges to help students explore ideas and communicate more naturally. Within each Chinese enrichment class, students are encouraged to ask questions, share their thoughts and develop a genuine interest in learning Chinese.
We have expanded to multiple locations to serve more students.

Choice Hua Sheng is guided by Principal Madam Kuang, who brings over 30 years of teaching experience and has been part of Hua Cheng Education Center since 2001. Her longstanding experience in Chinese education shapes the centre’s structured teaching approach and continued focus on helping students build stronger language foundations.
Our curriculum is developed with NIE-NTU expertise and aligned with the MOE Chinese syllabus. Lessons support the skills students need at each stage of learning, from early vocabulary development to oral communication, comprehension, composition and examination preparation.
This alignment helps students connect what they learn in class with school requirements while receiving more focused guidance through structured Chinese language tuition.
Different students face different challenges in Chinese. Our courses are designed to provide more focused support instead of applying the same learning approach to every child.
The ACE Course helps younger primary students strengthen essential vocabulary, character recognition and language foundations. It is particularly suitable for students who need greater confidence before progressing to more demanding comprehension and writing tasks.
The CCW Course supports students from Primary 3 onwards in developing stronger comprehension and writing skills. Lessons guide students in understanding questions, organising ideas and expressing themselves more clearly in written Chinese.
Secondary students receive guidance that reflects the demands of their respective Chinese streams. Lessons help them strengthen core language skills, address specific gaps and prepare more confidently for school assessments and the O-Levels.
Our classes are intentionally kept small so teachers can observe each student’s progress more closely. This allows them to adjust lesson difficulty, provide more targeted feedback and give students greater opportunities to participate.
Within a smaller Chinese enrichment class, learners can ask questions more freely, practise speaking and receive guidance suited to their pace and areas of difficulty.
Chinese learning should involve understanding, not simply memorising model answers. Our teaching approach encourages students to analyse questions, develop their own ideas and apply vocabulary in meaningful contexts.
Through guided discussion, structured exercises and regular feedback, students learn to communicate with greater clarity and confidence. This approach helps them build skills that support both examination performance and long-term language development.
Stay updated with the latest happenings at Choice Hua Sheng, where our mandarin enrichment classes bring language learning to life through engaging activities, student achievements, and meaningful cultural experiences.

We offer programmes from pre-school (N2) to Secondary 4 (O-Level). Our Chinese classes for preschoolers are designed to build early language confidence, while our primary and secondary Chinese tuition classes strengthen vocabulary, comprehension, writing skills, and exam readiness.
Our curriculum goes beyond drill-based learning and memorisation, which many traditional tuition approaches rely on. Instead, we focus on developing critical thinking, confidence, and intrinsic motivation, nurturing a deeper appreciation for the language.
Our primary Chinese tuition programmes include small-group lessons, scaffolded writing practice, vocabulary development, and targeted exam techniques aligned with MOE standards.
At Choice Hua Sheng, we set individual learning goals and adjust lesson difficulty based on each student’s pace. This ensures that our Chinese tuition supports both struggling learners and higher-ability students without a one-size-fits-all approach.

If your child is just beginning their Chinese language tuition, it is usually helpful to start with a programme that focuses on building confidence in listening, speaking, and basic character recognition. Younger learners may benefit from a structured Chinese enrichment class for preschool, where lessons introduce Mandarin through stories, songs, and guided interaction. This approach helps children develop familiarity with the language before moving into more academic learning.
Class sizes are kept intentionally small so that teachers can observe each student’s learning pace and provide closer guidance. Our Chinese tuition classes for preschool and primary school consist of smaller groups that allow teachers to support pronunciation, reading, and writing skills more effectively. This environment also encourages students to participate actively, ask questions, and practise speaking Mandarin with greater confidence.
Many parents prefer to understand the learning approach before committing to regular classes. Trial lessons may be available so that students can experience the teaching style, classroom environment, and lesson structure first-hand. This also allows parents to see whether the programme suits their child’s learning needs, whether they are exploring foundational classes or preparing for exams through PSLE Chinese tuition.
